Optometry Day at the Statehouse (ODASH)
The Athletic Club of Columbus
136 E Broad St, Columbus OH 43215
Clear your calendar and plan to join us in Columbus Wednesday, March 4th for Optometry Day at the Statehouse! As in years past, we will set up home base at the Athletic Club of Columbus (136 E Broad St, Columbus OH 43215).
This annual event is an essential component of the Ohio Optometric Association’s advocacy strategy to protect, advance and modernize the profession. ODASH connects ODs with their elected officials in the Ohio General Assembly to discuss the issues most important to the profession, advocate for specific bills, and ensure legislators understand the scope of their work. All OOA members and students are invited to attend free of charge.
This is a critical time for our scope modernization bill as we are preparing to enter a substitution bill into the Senate Health Committee. In fact, the substitution bill is tentatively scheduled for sponsor and proponent testimony in the Senate Health Committee during ODASH on March 4th. This will be perfect timing for Key ODs to meet with legislators on the same day the sub bill is introduced.
Basic Agenda:
8:00 AM - Registration Opens
8:30 AM - Legislative Briefing including updates on SB36 Sub Bill
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM - Legislative Meetings
10:00 AM - Live Stream of Senate Health Committee Hearing
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Lunch Available at the Athletic Club
Further details will be announced as the date draws near. Questions and interest in attending should be directed to info@ooa.org.
