OOA Parental Leave Discount (PLD) Application

The Ohio Optometric Association offers a one-time dues discount to members who elect to take a 90-day unpaid leave from practice for one of the following qualifying scenarios listed under the FMLA: the birth of a child, the placement of a child for adoption or foster care, or care for an immediate family member with a serious health condition.
Qualified members will receive a one-time discount of 25% off their OOA portion of dues for one year of membership. AOA and Zone dues are not discounted.
Member ODs who receive Partial Practice, Optometric Educator, Post-Graduate, Life or Retired Member discounts DO NOT qualify for the Parental Leave discount.
If member dues are already paid in full at time of application, the parental leave discount may be applied to the following year's member dues invoice. In the case parental leave spans two calendar years, the discount will be applied to the membership year in which the majority of the leave is taken.
There is no limit to how many PLDs a member may receive, but they are limited to one 25% discount on OOA dues per membership year.
