Dr. Mile Brujic urges members to contribute to OOPAC!
Dr. Dave Anderson, chair of the OOPAC Board, shares his candid perspective on the need to contribute to OOPAC:
As the OOA continues efforts to pass necessary scope modernization, contributions to the OOPAC must increase. PAC dollars are required to support the campaigns of legislators deciding this issue. The OOA cannot use dues dollars for this purpose. Only a small percentage of OOA members (less than 10%) currently contribute to OOPAC. We need all members to contribute – even as little as $20 a month makes a difference.
The OOA is working with AOSA students at The Ohio State University College of Optometry this fall to help raise OOPAC funding. Students will call all OOA members who have yet to contribute to OOPAC (in 2024) to discuss this important legislation and the necessary actions required to get the bill signed into law. Please don’t ignore these calls; take the time to hear from a future colleague and why they think scope modernization is essential.
OOPAC contributions can be made at any time using this link: OOPAC Contribution Form
Enroll in AutoPAC (monthly contributions) using this link: AutoPAC Enrollment Form
Contribute any amount. Consider monthly contributions of $20/month. Consider a one-time contribution of $1,000 for special recognition at OOA Honors. All contributions are welcome and highly valued.
