Clear your calendar and plan to join us in Columbus Tuesday, April 1, 2025 for Optometry Day at the Statehouse! As in years past, we will set up home base at the Athletic Club of Columbus (136 E Broad St, Columbus OH 43215); a brief agenda is listed below.
This annual event is an essential component of the Ohio Optometric Association’s advocacy strategy to protect, advance and modernize the profession. ODASH connects ODs with their elected officials in the Ohio General Assembly to discuss the issues most important to the profession, advocate for specific bills, and ensure legislators understand the scope of their work. All OOA members and students are invited to attend free of charge.
The OOA has reintroduced our scope modernization bill through sponsor Senator Jerry Cirino as Senate Bill 36. This and children's vision funding in the state budget proposal will be our main priorities as we meet with legislators.

Key ODs should schedule meetings with their legislators between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM on April 1, 2025. Once your meeting is scheduled, email the details to Cori McCabe (cmccabe@ooa.org).
